M3U link to QR code: no remote-control typing
An M3U Plus link is 120 to 200 characters. Typing that with a TV remote is a punishment, and one wrong character makes the playlist look “broken”. A QR code moves the link to a screen you can scan — phone, tablet — in a second, with no typos and no missing characters.

How to use it
1. Paste the link
An M3U Plus playlist URL, an EPG address or any long URL. You can also generate the link inside the same page if you only have server, username and password.
2. Pick the error-correction level
M (15%) is enough for scanning from a screen and keeps the code compact. Choose H (30%) if you print the code or the display is dim: it gets a bit denser but survives scratches, smudges and bad lighting.
3. Scan with a phone, not the TV
Most TVs have no camera. Scan with your phone, copy the link, then use the player’s “remote playlist” feature or the phone companion app to push it to the TV.
4. Export as SVG or PNG
SVG scales to any size for printing; PNG is what chat apps and screenshots expect. If the link is very long, drop to level L and 512 px before giving up — otherwise shorten the link or paste it directly.
Choosing the level
- • L (7%) — Smallest code, most fragile — pick it only when a long link must fit.
- • M (15%) — Default for on-screen scanning.
- • Q (25%) — Middle ground for dim screens and phone cameras at an angle.
- • H (30%) — Printed codes, stickers, low light — the code grows, the readability wins.
Security: a QR code is a password you can photograph
The code is generated in your browser with no request to us or to any third-party QR service — that is why it is safe for links containing credentials. But the result is your account in visual form: anyone who scans it gets the link. Do not post it, do not leave it on a shared screen, and treat a screenshot exactly like the password itself.
FAQ
Can the TV scan the code itself?+
Rarely. Use a phone to scan and then the player’s remote-upload or companion-app feature; some Smart TV apps accept a playlist transfer from their mobile app.
Is my link sent to a QR generator service?+
No. The QR is built in the tab, so no third party ever sees the link. That matters because the link contains your username and password.
The code does not generate — what now?+
The link is too long for a compact code. Set the level to L and the size to 512 px, or shorten the link; if it still fails, copy the link directly instead.
Which format should I use?+
SVG for printing at any size, PNG for chats and screenshots. Both encode the same data.
